Safia Guerras was moved and inspired to write poetry after attending a Haiku recital, compelling her to express a reckoning with her inner self. She aims to share her inner voice to assist others in overcoming their struggles.

Born in Algeria, Safia’s global travels have not only been a source of personal enlightenment but also spurred her creativity, leading her to become a fashion designer, interior designer, writer, and inventor.

For the past two decades, settled in the Middle East to raise her children, she has pondered life’s meaning, drawing from her experiences and observations. She writes in English, her third language.

This book introduces Safia, not as a daughter, wife, mother, sister, or friend, but simply as Safia, the human being.

Safia's first book is a brilliantly written summary of enlightened - and enlightening - reflections delivered in full flow with rhythm - and blues - where each word resonates like the beat of a struggling heart sometimes too big to find its place, too fragile to be exposed and too angry to find peace. Through poetry, Safia found a way to channel and tame her overwhelming thoughts resulting from the complexity, adversity, and injustice featuring our violent world but also resulting in a beautiful rhythmic ode to the self. A self too often and too long forgotten or neglected but capable at any time of sudden transfiguration and spectacular awakening. Leading to the path of wisdom and inner peace.

Lovely Haiku style book, very well thought and written. Short and easy to read, but intense and beautiful meanings you can relate to. It’s actually a lovely present to buy for your loved ones. This book is now on my bedside table as I like it very much!
