I have read a couple of TG Trouper’s novels and thoroughly enjoyed them, so I was intrigued by this book, Perfect Strangers, as it is in a different genre. Whereas the Astrid books are female led war stories, this is more of a suspense/horror. I bought this from the author who described it as Tales of the Unexpected with a touch of Hammer Horror. He was not wrong. I finished this book in one day, and without giving too much of the plot away, Paul and Sophie both meet strangers. Sophie through work and Paul at a coffee shop. These strangers seem perfect, but nobody is.

Paul and Sophie are ready for the adventure of a lifetime-a month-long Australian road trip prelude to their much-awaited marriage. But fate has different plans. When Sophie meets Larsen, a smooth, perceptive colleague from Sweden, she finds herself drawn to his effortless charm. He seems to understand women in a way Paul never could, making her question everything she thought she knew about love. Meanwhile, Paul encounters Marty, an enigmatic stranger who eerily feels like every friend he has ever had. Their instant camaraderie pulls Paul into deep conversations, revealing vulnerabilities he never shared before. As their paths diverge, temptation slithers in. Marty introduces Paul to a world of indulgence where desires are met without question, testing his loyalty in ways he never imagined. Sophie, too, battles her emotions, torn between security and excitement. The novel delves into the complexities of human nature, relationships, and the choices that define us. T.G. Trouper crafts an emotionally charged narrative, making readers wonder: Can love survive when strangers become more familiar than the ones we hold dear? Or are some encounters simply meant to change us forever? Perfect Strangers is a gripping psychological drama filled with passion, introspection, and unexpected turns. It explores the thin line between commitment and temptation, forcing us to confront our deepest fears about love and trust Will Paul and Sophie find their way back to each other, or will they become just that-perfect strangers? This book is a must-read for those who love character-driven, thought-provoking stories! Must read.

This isn't a genre that I would normally read. However, Perfect Strangers was recommended so I decided to give it a go. It had me gripped from beginning to end. it's a perfect example of how Paul and Sophie (and others in real life!) could allow themselves to be manipulated, driven by their desires but not with a fairy tale happy ever after ending!.

I thoroughly enjoyed Perfect Strangers. Having been fortunate enough to hear the author read a short extract live, I never expected the story to be this accessible, original, and gripping. Sophie and Paul have found a special place in my heart. And those twists and turns! It was an utterly amazing read. I couldn't put the book down until I'd finished. It was so good, I think I might just read it all over again.

    An enjoyable read, very Hammeresque!

In the first half of the book, the main characters, Paul and Sophie, are well developed and their daily routine easy to understand. This gave me a good insight into each of them giving me a clue as to how they might behave in given situations. Sophie would be logical, practical, with a spreadsheet not far away while Paul would be more easy going and friendly. However, upon each of them meeting a mysterious character, they behave completely out of character showing what a strong influence the new person is to them both. TG Trouper has written this character U-turn convincingly which compelled me to read on, discovering how the two are drawn into a completely different mindset and, ultimately, lifestyle. Dialogue is good too; easy to follow and understand. What began as a curious read learning about the routine of a young couple resulted in a dark story with a thrilling ending.
