Life seemed idyllic for the glamorous couple, a big house in the country, a successful career and a loving husband and child, what could be more perfect? Everyone wanted her life.

But behind closed doors it was a very different matter. With slow realisation, she realised she had married a monster. With no one and nowhere to turn to, would she survive?

M.C. Fox, born in Edinburgh and raised in the scenic Scottish Borders, has had a diverse and inspiring journey. She built a successful career as a general manager for a prominent retail company and contributed as a writer for a well-known sporting magazine. After her marriage ended, she completed her degree with the Open University, before continuing higher education, earning a postgraduate degree with master’s credits in Primary Education with the UHI.

M.C. Fox’s achievements include being honoured as a Commonwealth Baton Bearer and serving as a poster representative for the Edinburgh Marathon. She currently resides in the Scottish Borders, where she finds joy in teaching at a local primary school. As a devoted single mother, she cherishes her time with her daughter.

Perfectly Woven Lies is her captivating debut novel, marking her first step into the world of fiction writing.

Rarely have I read the last few chapters of a book so quickly to find out how it ends. Superb twist at the end which gave me plenty to think about. All the different situations the main character found herself in were so believable. I felt that I was living her life at times. We definitely need a sequel to find out what happens next.

I couldn't put this book down from page 1. I read it all over a weekend. You feel every emotion. One of the best books I have read in a very long time. It's heart breaking, brave, very emotional. It's beautifully wrote. A true gem of a book I cannot wait for a sequel, fingers crossed. This is going to be a best seller!! Absolutely outstanding debut novel. 5star plus

I couldn't out the book down. I got immersed in the story and the characters and spent the whole book second guessing what was going to happen next. I didn't expect the plot twist at the end and I cannot wait to see if there's a sequel coming!! A must read!!

The story absolutely gripped me and I do wonder how much is based on personal experience. I am in awe of the power of your words Maureen . I was shouting at Isla at times, willing her to escape or to tell someone. I did find the ending left more questions than answers and can't wait for the sequel

Goodness me! What a read. My emotions are all over the place.. I cried. I smiled. I was angry. I just wanted to make everything good for the two of the main characters! Get this book in your basket now!

A rising star in the literary world. I was hooked by the first chapter, rooting for Isla and catching my breath with her as she fought her way through a life most of us cannot imagine and feelings so real to those who can relate. Cannot wait for the next installment. What a rare exciting talent.

Brilliant book! I devoured it in a day! I thought it did an excellent job capturing Isla's loss of control, sense of isolation and paranioa. I found myself feeling everything along with her and desperately needing her to be safe. There were lots of tense moments, a few dark moments, but moments of hope, strength and joy too. The ending was satisfying and well done, with just a tease that there may be more to come. I hope so! I'll be keeping an eye out for more from this author!
