Karen Down is a single parent from Plymouth who also works as a teaching assistant at Knowle Primary School.
Helping the children fall in love with reading is one of the biggest rewards in Karen’s job. This has inspired her to write The Adventures of the Snot so Scary Bogeyman, which they loved.
This book is an absolute gem! As a teacher, I’ve shared it with children of all ages, and every single one has been captivated—laughing at the witty lines and delighting in the wonderfully gruesome bogey content. The rhythmic, rhyming text makes it not only a joy to read aloud but also a fantastic tool for developing reading fluency.
