Book Description

Is life just the passing of time? Does it have a purpose? Is there more? Are humans just evolutionary markers here for a brief spell and then gone, or is there a more meaningful purpose? Is religion real or imagined?

Suddenly a predator, both impersonal and ruthless, enters our world intent on destruction. This is about CANCER.

How it affects us mentally as well as physically. How can we help ourselves? How can we help others? How can others help us?

Graeme Sims is the author of twelve books, ranging from children’s stories to guides on how to paint, plus Dog Whispering and poetry. He won a Mother Goose Award for his illustrations in Rufus the Fox and was the Creative Director on Vanishing Species (an evolution story for children), an award-winning educational project with Doctor David Bellamy for British Airways and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). His paintings have raised funds for the WWF, ISPA (International Society for the Protection of Animals) and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).

He has been a soldier, artist, creative director in advertising and a demonstrator of sheepdog skills, working ten dogs at the same time as well as being both a shepherd and an ordained priest.

He lives in Wales with his partner and dogs Lola and Susie.

At first glance, The Answer Is Under Your Nose by Graeme Sims could look like a collection of the author’s life events: a memoir, a personal journey and, in a way, it is. However, as you read it, you begin to realise the meaning and significance that each event has had in helping the author understand what life is really about. Experiencing cancer first-hand has led the author to look for answers to questions we all ask ourselves but often leave unanswered or incomplete. Reading about the author’s experiences and the truths he has discovered offers us an opportunity to think deeply about what really matters in life, and about what love, care and kindness can bring to all of us, especially when we experience difficult moments. It’s a book that leaves you with a sense of hope, positivity and togetherness.
