Tal believes that he is trapped on the other side of the world, with no means of returning home. Taken prisoner by The Dark Elves, Tal has been forced into a life of slavery. Each day, he is tormented by his captors and forced to fight for his life. The Lord of The Dark Elves is cruel and vicious, taking great pleasure inflicting pain on his human slave. Unbeknown to Tolomyn, the stolen golden hammer he carries hides part of The Black Heart Gem. The Elf Lord’s cruelty is amplified by the hidden piece, as the jewel seeks to corrupt all those who come in contact with it.

Captain Derrel Mendez believes that his brother still lives and desperately searches the endless jungle of Rainoa for Tal. Meanwhile, back in Sharr a sinister plot is being hatched that could plunge The Kingdom into civil war. Desperate to escape, Tal must come up with a plan that involves making his way through a jungle filled with deadly predators, all while evading his captors. His only friend, a dwarven slave, tells him that unarmed and alone he won’t last a single day in the jungle, but Tal has other ideas. He is determined to regain his freedom.

My name is Bryn William Hopkins. I was born in 1975 to James and Linda Hopkins. I got introduced to the world of reading by my older brother, Gary, who handed me a book by David Gemmell, at the age of eighteen. I struggled with reading all my life, as I’m severely dyslexic, and I can honestly say, I never really enjoyed reading before Gary gave me that first book. After twenty years of reading novels, I decided to have a go at my own story and found it most enjoyable. Writing gives me a sense of freedom to express what is going on in my mind. I always thought that my dyslexia was a hinderance throughout my life, but now I feel it is part of my skillset which helps me develop and come up with my stories.
