Daquiel Meeks is a young teenager aspiring to become an author. Though this is his first officially published work, he has published short stories using Kindle Direct Publishing, including Silent Seasons and Skirmish. He aims to, through his work, inspire others to see the real world in a new light, to create experiences for others, mainly children. Daquiel enjoys traveling with his family, reading, and writing. He also loves animals and playing with his pet kitten, Domino.
When I first read this book, I was totally unprepared for what I was about to experience. Daquiel's amazing effort to allow us to dive into Rafael's world was both unpredictable and unexpected. The complicated science behind the Megagator's existence was something I barely understood, but the parallel between the giant crocodilian and a mere human being is both incredible and horrifying. The creation of EnvironHealth contrasts with organizations today working to save endangered species on the brink of extinction. It is both a novel and a message to the world that nature is capricious, and at most times, unrestrained. I really enjoyed The Deep End and hope there will be more to Rafael's experience with this amazing yet dangerous behemoth reptile.
