The Floating World, or Ukiyo, explores the themes of love, loss, existential search, and spiritual awakening. The story is set against the materialistic world of Hong Kong’s high society and the darker underworld of the Macau flesh trade. The story follows Nick, a Harvard-educated banker whose life takes a dramatic turn after a fateful encounter with Nadia, a Chinese-Russian beauty.
Alex Ying was a senior international film and television executive and a lawyer. In his previous role, he has worked with major actors, producers and directors. He has lived in China, Hong Kong, USA, Singapore, Philippines, Panama, Japan and Australia. He is conversant in Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Spanish and Japanese.
