Living in a picture postcard by an arm of the Sognefjord, Maryan George has her husband, two adult children, and six cats to keep her occupied. When they are elsewhere, she is busy writing, conducting bands and choirs, playing and/or singing in bands, choirs, and groups, or working her daytime job as a teacher of English and music. The inspiration to write comes from the nature around her, her students and family, and the rich reservoir of stories, fairytales, and sagas in her culture.
Just finished the Frost King. You are certainly talented! Well done! Such a complex plot but it all came together in the end. Thought I recognized similarities to Tolkien, Harry Potter and the studio ghibli films (those black furry friendly balls who rescued Mojaistic). I still didn’t really understand what the connection between Myra and Elderanna is. Both women seem to be of the same “race” as the Gaiatlera. Myra is a queen but Elderanna is more powerful and seems invincible. But maybe I just have to suspend belief and accept it is a magical world.
