Book Description

This book follows the origins of 1960s and 1970s street fashion – London fashions which were mass-produced and exported in high volume to the U.S.A., Canada, Scandinavia, France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Japan and beyond.

It also gives an insight into the brands created by the author and their ongoing design influence, as well as original photographs of some of the innovative garments created therein.

Frank Ashbourn turned 15 years old in 1962. It was during this time that he was exposed to the incredible 1960s explosion of music and fashion in which Britain led the world. He drifted into London’s fashion and was influential in its export around the world in brands that he created. His brands have left a legacy of necklines and body shapes that continue to influence global fashion. Even today, there is considerable demand for the original garments from those brands in retro stores around the world, and on Etsy/eBay and fashion clothing auctions.
