The Sky House

Isla is a young girl who loves to read and play with her pet dog, Mr Motso.

Yet one Saturday morning, while shopping for a birthday present for her sister, she is suddenly taken underground, just as Henry, her annoying brother, teased and predicted.

“Henry, help me!

I’m going under… do something!”

Isla is scared, but in her new and strange environment she receives some wise words that lead to a meeting with her Nanny, where together they uncover a life-changing secret.

Throughout her journey, Isla soon learns that by using her clue she not only gets to feel awesome but can also boost the lives of others – even Mr Motso!

As an award-winning teacher, now an international leadership coach and consultant, he takes pride in writing with the intent to inspire the imagination and happiness of both children and adults.

Born in Western Australia and an adventurer at heart, Craig has four children and two grandchildren and enjoys running, playing the guitar, body surfing and camping.

I really enjoyed The Sky House for its interesting characters, and positive values. I have bought the book for my two grandsons aged 6 and 12, and believe it will speak to each of them. What a great debut novel Craig! I look forward to more.

I loved this book. I found the story engaging and espousing good family values. The narrator an energetic five year old girl is a delight. A perfect book for grandparents to read to grandchildren to encourage a love of reading at young age. The Book Club at the end is a great addition.

In the world we are currently live in literature for young readers is so much more important. Not only to improve literacy skills and teach life lessons but motivation to get off screens. In the world we are currently living in it is also imperative we model, encourage and explicitly teach “choosing kind” to children who are the future. This book gives me hope for their future.

An excellent book for young readers containing very topical and relevant themes throughout. Chapter to chapter is linked by clever hooks which entice the reader to go on. Looking forward to seeing what’s happened to young Henry.

Great story I couldn’t put it down I'll inspire to be more like Nanna B Henry was so mean . He needed to be taught softness and he did in the end Isla was a very bright clever 5 year old great communication and speech Loved that her Poppy was her guide As we all have one or several . So special that she could have that time with him and even see him. That's very special ... Easy reading I read this book in 2 days. Chapters left you needing more and wanting to find out what happened. Not sure how I would describe the book Important to have dreams, open mind, imagination and kindness and most importantly a close supportive family . And a Nanna that bakes and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren . Just a nice feel good easy reading. Well done Craig I enjoyed the book and the adventure. . I'll think of this book each time I ride the escalator... Cheers '
