Book Description

MAGGIE: In 2019 we gave up the constraints of a frequently frantic existence to live and travel in a campervan for a year; to be in the flow of life; trusting the great mystery of the universe to guide us. We got far more than we expected. The truth is that the truth is stranger than fiction.PETE: On our adventures we encountered sea turtles on a remote island; a mystical prophet woman in an Aborigine rainforest; were bitten by a rare spider; visited most of the Lord of the Rings film locations with uncanny ramifications; collected Maori tea; encountered mysterious Broch energies, and many more weird and wonderful experiences                                                                           This is: HISstory and HERstory                                                                                                               Sit back and come with us on an adventure.

Pete and Maggie were both born in Scotland and still live in Ayrshire. Pete is an authentic hippie born in 1955 and Maggie, born five years later, was a child of the sixties.

They met at a local library where Maggie worked for 15 years and were good friends for many years before eventually getting together as a couple.

I absolutely loved this book, a great read, the way it is written is unique and reading the adventure unfolding from both writers perspective adds to it. Magnificent read and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a fun and gripping read.

A remarkable feat of adventure, full of fascinating stories. This couple show what it means to say YES to life. Have booked a trip to Oz on the back of this and hope to have half as much fun as they did, during that leg of their journey. Well written and full of unexpected information. Documenting the love that is possible to find later in life when we think its time to wind down and come to terms with loss, show us that there's more to come, if you just look for it..!

This is a great read, I dip in and out because as I get older my attention span isn't great. Always love reading it though, getting Pete and Maggie's take on the same day is interesting and heartwarming, I'm lucky enough to know Pete, we both come from the same wee mining village in Ayrshire which I left just over 40 years ago, so being friends with Pete on Facebook I have seen the pics, really brings it all to life. Can't recommend it enough
