Book Description

Reine, a young Vilderne girl, lives in the realm of O Arithria. She belongs to a race of shapeshifters, and her wealthy clan provides her with a sheltered life. Unfortunately, she and her brothers are unable to transform into their hybrid forms—a unique blend of wild dog and wolf. The magic that once coursed through their family has waned over the years, diluted by marriages that strayed from the pure bloodline.

Her life begins to unravel as she faces an obsessive blood seeker named Whexlar and his morbid followers. Reine and her brothers decide to seek the aid of the mysterious and magical Sylphs, who are the guardians of the realm. Together with a Vilderne boy called Draken, who has laid claim to her heart, they travel to the walled city of Ambria.

There she reunites with Jens, a warrior Sylph, who is being manipulated by the possessive queen, Malvernia. Her feelings are conflicted as she finds herself falling for both males.

Reine will face challenges that will push her to breaking point in the darkest of times and ultimately determine the fate of all who dwell in the realm.

Sandra Bellairs lives in Cape Town, South Africa, with her husband, two teenagers and rescue dogs. Before she discovered a love of writing, she sang in an indie band and studied art, later training to become a chef. When she is not reading or writing, she will be found in the kitchen, creating. This is her debut fantasy novel.
