Book Description

Ziggy had it all: games of fetch, nightly cuddles, and the full attention of his parents. Suddenly, Pippa arrived: tiny, noisy, and completely unfamiliar.

As routines shifted and baby things took over, Ziggy’s world felt different… and so did he.

Ziggy Meets Pippa is a gentle, heartfelt story about what happens when a family grows. It’s a celebration of change, belonging, and the quiet strength of love as it deepens.

Molly Jean is a teacher, small business owner, and mum from the coastal town of Forster, NSW. Ziggy Meets Pippa was born in the blur of early motherhood, woven between quiet moments, everyday chaos, and the tender bond blooming between her daughter Pippa and their golden retriever, Ziggy. It’s a heartfelt tribute to the pets who patiently adjust and the families learning to navigate the change. Because when life evolves, love doesn’t just remain: it rises, stretches, and becomes something unimaginably more.

This is such a sweet book and I loved reading it to my grandchildren. Many can relate to this story with having a child and a dog growing up together. I have read this book to elderly people with in my work place and it’s brought such joy and happiness to their faces. Illustrations are really lovely and a book you will definitely enjoy with your little treasure by your side cuddling up together having quality time.

Ziggy and Pippa instantly claimed a spot as our class’s favourite read. It’s a wonderful book for sparking meaningful conversations and making read-aloud time extra special. The class loved it so much they’re already dreaming of a sequel that follows Ziggy and Pippa through their next adventures. Highly recommend for any classroom or home library!

One of those subtly moving tales that conveys a lot through kindness rather than drama is Ziggy Meets Pippa by the author Molly Jean. It appears to be a charming story about a pet and a newborn at first, but as you read on, it becomes a very moving story about identity, transformation, and discovering how to share love.

My girls love reading about Pippa and Ziggy! A beautiful book that helps them understand that even when things feel different, there is still so much love and belonging. You should be proud Molly!
