Lockdown and Other Things
We all remember the lockdown. Adjusting to life without our usual freedoms took time, and even the animals seemed confused about where the boundaries lay. The empty streets and unsettling silence created an almost eerie atmosphere.

The Passing of Pete and Other Short Stories
Most of us have at the back of our minds or memories our “Oh yes, I remember whens.” These are things from our past, which we have long since forgotten, until someone or something acts as a stimulus to bring them to our minds, whether welcome or possibly even hurtful. Situations which, until something or someone brings them to our mind, come alive at the stimulus, ” You remember it as a comment from a friend or even a particular sound or smell. “Oh yes,” you say! “I had totally forgotten about that, but now that you mention it, I remember being there and recall when so-and-so said such-and-such…”
“How many times have we said to ourselves, ‘If only I had recorded and kept a diary of what happened that afternoon!’” If I had done so, I could have written a book on it. But so many of us haven’t kept sufficient details to write our magnum opus. But we can try! Instead of trying to write a 100% accurate detail of what transpired, we can include the relevant experiences in a fictional version of what happened. Yes, it all happened, but not strictly as described in this book.

The Golden Book of Creation
We are all going through spiritual awakenings and always looking for our truth, inner truth, universal truth, ways of harmoniously being with each other, growing, and ever-evolving in our everyday lives. It takes a lot to find the courage within to shift any “truths” that are no longer serving in a meaningful way, but mostly what it takes is moments of self-reflection and deeper understanding of the role we are here to fulfill in a way that means something to us. It’s not always easy to look back and reflect, and it’s not even easy to be present and experience uncomfortably any situation that is here only to provide wisdom and teachable moments. My advice? Grab these moments and make the best of them. Unbecome who you thought you were and explore with all your inner power who you truly are in every aspect of your being, and let that golden light of yours shine unapologetically at its best ability. This is the point where you find your true calling and purpose in life.
The way to treat life is with humor and wisdom in order to find the inner truth and ways to share it with those you appreciate the most.
As always, …
… be True to YourSelf & be your True Self!

Losing Arthur
This book is quite a tough read. Because the reality of caring full-time for your loved one and seeing them go downhill over a number of years with a terminal illness is quite a tough thing to do. But thankfully there are funny incidences that do occur; otherwise, I am not sure one would survive!
But despite the trauma, tears, tiredness, and tedium of what becomes routine for everyday life, the experience does bring you both closer together. It is also peppered with so many acts of kindness, help and goodwill from friends, family and medical staff.
And most importantly are the carers whom you invite reluctantly at first into your home. Initially they know nothing about you, nor you about them, yet they are prepared to share this journey with you to the very end.

Pains from the Past
At the close of the last millennium, Grace Moran is living in a care home, suffering with dementia, and having time to look back on her life.
Grace was born in 1917, in the Suffolk village of Hartley Halt, where her grandfather was the rector at the village church. Her father, Gerald Whittingham, had been invalided out of the army, having been blown up and gassed and was suffering from severe mental issues.
The Second World War was underway and Grace, now a young woman, no longer wanted to stay in this stifled community; she moved to London, where she shared a flat with Mary. Having secured a clerical position working in Churchill’s War Rooms, she returned home one morning, after a night shift, to discover the house had been blown up and so had Mary.
Through the next five years, Grace experienced the horrors, the loves and losses of war, finally meeting Charles Moran on VE Day, 1945. They married two years later, having two children. Married life, for Grace, was not always an easy ride and she was afflicted with many emotional and difficult decisions. And now living in a care home, she has the time to reflect on the past, as well as worrying about her daughter, Robyn, in the present.
