Sex in the Shires
Journalist and single mum, Rebecca Pearce is clever, sexy and sharp and on the lookout for a man. But there’s a snag. Life in the shires is dullsville.com with no decent guys in sight. On offer is Charles Smythe-Bothum Wethem. He’s loaded, but a complete DUD – as in dull, ugly and desperate. Or Mervin Purvis. He’s an amorous, overweight “spam man” she meets on a blind date as a decoy for her married friend Delia who’s bedding his cousin, Toy Boy.“He’s got nice eyes,” says Delia.“Yes,” replies Rebecca, “for a walrus.”Life revs up when she goes speed dating and meets Tor, but there’s a hitch as she clocks her ex, Jake, drooling over her friend Konnie. Meanwhile, hunky Australian, Scott Henderson, walks into her office and invites her to cover a juicy scandal, arousing more than her journalistic instincts. Rebecca is set on a course to create emotional havoc and social upheaval as she tries to decide which man is ‘the one’ – or if she really needs a man at all.

Sharpening the Weapons of Peace
Colonel Wilkinson spent 31 years in the British Army with the Royal Artillery, commando and parachute brigades and special forces. In his last job in the army, he was the principal author of the first British Joint Warfare Publication (JWP 3-50 Peace Support Operations). During his military service he gradually came to the understanding that the achievement of peace required a comprehensive approach that addressed the causes and consequences of conflict and not just the symptoms. These thoughts were crystallised during his four years as a senior research fellow at the Centre for Defence Studies at King’s College, London. After King’s College, he was deployed as the international advisor to President Kagame in Rwanda for one year and President Karzai in Afghanistan for two years before supporting the National Security Advisor in Baghdad for three years. More recently, he spent fifteen months in the occupied Palestinian territories before deploying to Somalia for three years to support the President and Minister of Internal Security. These positions have given Colonel Wilkinson a unique perspective of international intervention operations. Many others have written of their observations from the outside looking in, Colonel Wilkinson has had the privilege of being part of the host government looking out. Many may find his observations unsettling!

Shielded By Faith: Rape And Persecution
There seems to me no thing in the human experience which compares to rape. It is where the sublime meets the depraved, ecstasy meets agony, love collides with lust and dreams become nightmares. This book is the culmination of reflections I have had since being raped and an attempt to convey the journey from the horror of that night to incomprehensible joy.The reader, having read these words, may feel doubtful. Is such a miraculous healing possible? Can a woman be rescued from such a pit of despair? Is there life after rape?

Spitfire Spies
Summer 1940 - Great Britain is in grave peril. With the ‘phoney' war turning into a very real war on the ground and in the air, Hitler's troops storm across an unprepared Europe towards the English Channel. Invasion looms. But the British have a weapon in their arsenal that may be a game changer and bring victory against all odds: the mighty Spitfire. So severe is the threat posed by this remarkable fighter plane that Germany sends two operatives - one a reluctant Englishman, the other a loyal Nazi - on an audacious mission to infiltrate and destroy. Will they achieve their goal or can MI5, with the aid of double agents and a brilliant female pilot, turn the tide of espionage to their advantage? With a literary adroitness reminiscent of an aviator in battle, author John Hughes weaves a tale of intrigue, love and betrayal in a fast-paced thriller of a debut novel which wends its way from the Fatherland via the beaches of Dunkirk to the skies over Southern England.
