Warsecret

There are good secrets, bad secrets, and mysteries. Two dramatic incidents happen on the same day. First, a hacker attack is carried out in England, then the old Farm Hall tapes are stolen from the National Government Communications Head Quarters (NGCHQ) – England’s most secure archive. Achilles, the main protagonist of Warsecret, sees a sinister and dangerous connection between the two events. As the top negotiator of Organisation Number One (ONO) and director of the Global Agency for Informed Consent (GAIG), he must find out why and how they are linked. A series of suspenseful and dramatic actions take place in Berlin, Cambridge, London, and New York. During this sensational adventure, Achilles relies on the help of his young, stoic assistant, Lucillo, and the advice of two enlightened colonels, James Neill and Dag Olsen. The final act plays out at a global negotiation about nuclear weapons and the quantum computer, where the deep-rooted danger of scientific inventions of this type will become apparent. As will the terrifying system of secrecy that screens them from scrutiny.

Wavelengths

‘Wavelengths' is an exploration of light, colour and form through the creation of transfigured natural images.

The result is a series of multi-layered image-scapes exploring the spectrum of visible wavelengths and my fascination with refraction and the interaction of light and glass, taking the images through the colours of the rainbow.  

These images are linked to a selection of poetry that provides a sidelight on the images.

One does not illustrate the other, but gives a different departure point for interpretation.

The poetry is chosen to have some relevance to the facing image  -  in a variety of styles, from 18th century to modern poets, and from well-known favourites to unknown poems.

Wednesday's Bananas

1974 was by no stretch of the imagination, the most tranquil year of Ireland’s history and 46 year old Robbie McDolan would be wise to realise how lucky he was to be employed aboard the German registered freighter under the command of Captain Hank on their way south across the warming Atlantic on their way to the Republic of Colombia to load a full cargo of some 300,000 boxes of bananas, half of which were to be destined for the Republic of Ireland. Captain Hank expected this to be a quiet voyage, ending in him going on leave for a well-earned rest, once back in Europe. But would the Columbian drug barons of Medellin have other ideas?

What a Wicked Web We Weave is a novel full of mystery, intrigue, murder, revenge, fraud and betrayal amongst many other things. It has several twists and turns as you get enthralled into each chapter and it will leave the reader in suspense and at the edge of their seat, right up to the end.

After spending ten years working for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), Tony Lodge finally lands the job of his dreams in the fraud department. He gets thrown in at the deep end when they receive an anonymous phone call, asking them to investigate one of their managers. Being the new kid on the block, it was easier for the department to put him on the case, as it was thought to be a hoax.

As Tony gets deeper and deeper into the investigation, things start to unfold and point him in the direction of someone a lot closer to home than he imagined. Tony tracks back in time to when the office the senior manager in question moved to when it opened a few years before. This is when the investigation starts to throw open suspicious deaths and an episode of mystery.
