A Book of Birds and Verse for Young and Old
A Book of Birds and Verse is a collection of good-humoured verse fused together with illustrations of some of our best-loved wild birds; birds that we may see every day in our gardens, towns and countryside.
The writer and wildlife artist Joseph Johnson has combined his talents of painting and writing to bring the reader a presentation of a number of Britain’s favourite wild birds, each one introduced through rhyming verse.
Joseph has enjoyed a lifelong love of the natural world and is a keen conservationist. He has written this collection of short illustrated poems with a humour which will introduce, entertain and perhaps educate the young reader as well as the maybe not so young to many of the characteristics of the subjects.
Our fine feathered friends are a blessing to us all and the author hopes that the readers of this book may come to see some of them in a new and fresh light together with a smile.£12.99 -
Children's Christmas Rhymes
Mince pies and carrots on the plate
Glass of milk in pride of place
Under the tree is the perfect place
Waiting for Santa with his jolly face
Santa plays the perfect role
Sack in hand, presents placed
Off he goes to another place
Riding high in the sky
I caught a glimpse as reindeer galloped by
Merry Christmas everyone

Poems By Pom Pom
The author is an 80+ year old grandfather with six grandchildren. His 'family name' is Pom Pom. This came from the first attempt of the eldest grandchild to say 'Grandpa', and has stuck ever since. The youngest grandchild, Ruby, lives 300 miles or so from Pom Pom and Grannie. Because they do not see her all that frequently, one day Pom Pom thought it would be a good idea to send her a home-made card just as a way of keeping in touch. This was 'The Story of Ollie the Owl'. Ruby loved it and thought it great fun-—as did her friends. So Pom Pom sent eleven more cards over a period of time, They all told stories about a variety of countryside animals who each have their special challenges, but manage to solve them in the end. Each has Pom Pom's painting of the animal and a poem to accompany the painting.
Ruby hopes other children like them as much as she did.

Good Boy
Good Boy is an extremely witty, educational and emotional insight into a dog's mind, demonstrated through everyday experiences that will transport the reader into the canine world. The reader will gain a better understanding of how a dog thinks and how the main goal of our domestic friend is to please their owner and earn their respect and love. Whether they own a dog themselves or know a dog that lives with a family member or friend, the reader will never look at a dog in the same way again. Good Boy is an exceptional way for children and adults to learn how their dog may be thinking in certain situations and help them understand dogs better. As poetry written from a dog's perspective, Good Boy is a very well thought out and deeply relevant piece of work.

Hamlet and Richard III
Richard speaks his thoughts:'But I—born crude, with hum-ped back and wretched, misformed shape, whose visage makes dogs snarl and bark, and grown men stand and gape—am not well built for sporting tricks, 'tis plain for all to see, a lover I will never prove, so villain I will be.'With this simple verse, the essence of Richard and what drives him to his evil excesses is captured, and this format of Shakespearean style verse continues throughout the book to cover the entire play, including notable real life events, such as the War of the Roses, the Princes in the Tower and the ultimate end of Richard at the Battle of Bosworth.
