When Private Investigator Paul West took on his next case, it seemed easy and one that would pay handsomely. All West had to do was compile a profile of Jason Knox for his only son, Matthew, who had no memory of him. His father had walked away from Matthew’s mother when he was an infant and left him the sole beneficiary of his multi-million-dollar estate.

It didn’t take long before he was thrust into one of the most complex cases in a long and illustrious career. It took him to Ebony River, a small town, on Vancouver Island’s east coast that seldom gave a wink or nod to the outside world.

What he found was the two-year-old unsolved murder of Jason Knox and his wife that was still baffling RCMP Sergeant Andy Holt. When West told him why he had come to Ebony River, Holt asked him if he would go undercover and help him solve the case.

West’s investigation concentrated on an eclectic range of residents including: bikers with an agenda, a former member of the town council with a grudge to settle, a small church time had left behind, a farmer’s Sunday dinner that revealed hidden secrets and a mayor desperately trying to get re-elected.

Murder Unchained is a page-turner. It will keep the reader guessing up to the last page.

This is Savannah’s story, as told by Savannah. A puppy born on an Island in Greece was abandoned by her mother at a very young age. A family heard her crying and rescued her. Once again, through circumstances, abandoned. Life was not easy but Savannah became friends with a little dog named Bethany. They became inseparable and had many adventures together, some happy, some heartbreaking. Their adventures came to an abrupt end when they both fell sick. They were found by the ladies from the dog shelter. Not a particularly happy time, but at least Savannah and Bethany could cuddle up together. Hope was on its way as Savannah was destined to be adopted by a family in England. Would she be with Bethany? Would she survive the hazardous journey, by van, ferry and boat? Would she be happy with her new family?

I’ve been in love with HRH since I was eight years old. I prayed to Jesus every night that he would be my husband one day. Little did I know that he was the Anti-Christ until the Apostolic pastor who would preach on the nightclub strip revealed it to us. I was afraid but loved him. I prayed for the Anti-Christ but was molested by a paedophile instead. That paedophile was named Phantom and he ruled Belial. Belial is where I lived. I wanted to escape Phantom so desperately. I prayed and my prayers were unanswered until my friends in Navajo Nation helped me get across the portal through the Lukachukai Mountains. In the Lukachukai Mountains there was a waterfall portal called “Water is Life” where one can escape to the land of Eleutheria. Eleutheria is where His Royal Highness (HRH) lives. I hope one day I can meet him. I hope one day he loves me and fights against Phantom and rescues me from Phantom’s rule. I hope Jesus forgives me for my unhealthy obsession with the Anti-Christ.

N'in D'la Owey Innklan: Mi'kmaq Sojourns in England
    Bonita Lawrence

This is a historical novel, beginning in 1497 and taking us, in a series of vignettes, through five centuries of interconnections between the Mi'kmaq people of Atlantic Canada and London. Each character begins their story in different regions of the Mi'kmaq world of the North American Atlantic Coast; they end up in various regions of London, ranging from the 16th-century Austin Friars monastery to 20th-century Limehouse. The novel encompasses descriptive scenes of London in different eras, alternately addressing the eroticism of lovers, the wide-ranging lives of whalers and sailors, the horrors of nursing during World War I and the overwrought world of heroin users in late 1970s' East London, interspersed with occasional short pages of intellectual commentary. Ultimately, it is a labour of love for homelands lost.

As the blade rasps down and the cruelty of those he serves becomes even more difficult to justify, Napoleon must strive to preserve his exiled family and navigate the unconscionable. As France struggles to survive the onslaught of foreign invasion, Napoleon must conquer an inner turmoil so raw and powerful that it drove him to the siege of Toulon and the beginning of greatness.
