Chris Trotter is at the Real Mary King's Close

The Real Mary King's Close pays host to author Chris Trotter where he will be signing copies of his book 'The Storyteller'. Have the chance to meet the man behind the fascinating book about one teenager who experiences something more mystical than anything else in this world. It's just another summer holiday at the caravan park, and thirteen-year-old Jamie is feeling unloved, unwanted and thoroughly confused. With a mother who is a recovering alcoholic, an uninterested sister and an aggressive father, he seems to have little to celebrate. But at the park's funfair, a hidden secret comes to light which will change his life forever. Reeling from the disclosure, Jamie stumbles into a never explored area of the park. Here he meets a gypsy whose gift in storytelling might help the teenager make sense of his life. Or is that lives? In this innovative first novel by Christopher Trotter, 'The Storyteller' explores the poignant relationship between siblings, and how, in the cycle of life, there may be more than one chance to make things right. Using a unique blend of traditional fiction and fantasy, Trotter interweaves two tales before bringing them to an uplifting conclusion.

David P Perlmutter is at the Waterstones in Bournemouth

The Waterstones in Bournemouth (Arcade) is hosting David P Perlmutter for an event where you'll get to meet the author and get him to sign a copy of your book. A London estate agent finds himself on the wrong side of the law one night, leading to the loss of his driving licence, his job and his home. He decides to visit Spain for a change of scenery but gets more than he bargains for when before long, misfortune, circumstance and a degree of stupidity land him in more trouble than that which brought about his downfall back home. One night in Marbella, armed with more Dutch courage than common sense, he rescues two people from a burning hotel, but in the process is falsely accused of arson and manslaughter and thrown in a Spanish jail. ‘Aided' by a UK tabloid journalist, whose sole objective is to create shock headlines, David's gripping real life account has had readers leaving 5* reviews on Amazon in their hundreds. ***** Story sinks its claws into you and doesn't let go. ***** Read many books, but this one tops the lot! ***** Best book I've read in a very long time! ***** It should be a movie! ***** I'm reading it for the third time, it's that good!

Pippa Kelly is Signing Books at 'The Bookshop' in East Grinstead

The Bookshop in East Grinstead is hosting Pippa Kelly, author of Invisible Ink from 1pm. Now is the opportunity to buy an outstanding new book, or have your old one signed. This contemporary fiction piece is something you'll definitely want to get your hands on. London lawyer Max Rivers has it all - a burgeoning career, a beautiful girlfriend, an exclusive address - but he harbours a long-buried secret that threatens to destroy his carefully constructed world. Invisible Ink is a mesmerising novel of guilt, loss and betrayal within a family - of sibling jealousy that threatens to run out of control, a mother's life all-but forgotten through the fog of dementia and a son who longs to, but cannot, escape his past. Pippa Kelly's haunting debut offers a deft exploration of the complex emotions hidden beneath the surface of our lives; drawing its readers into Max's story and leading them, step by careful step, towards its inevitable dénouement.

Simon Adepetun will be appearing at the Christmas Fair at St Gregory's Catholic High School

St Gregory's Catholic High School is plying host to the extremely popular author Simon Adepetun this Saturday at their Christmas fair. Head down to meet the man who wrote the equally popular book 'The Bee Hive'. Eleven-year-old Daniel Jeremiah Chambers has parents Philip and Susan who love work and shopping and who just don't listen. Daniel is an only child ... no, he's lying ... he has a sister, Alice, who has a dolly fixation; Dan is sure she is an alien. So, Dan has a few problems, none insurmountable, until his friend, Benji, introduces him to the find of the century - a derelict bee hive which could become a den. Of course, such a simple thing is never so simple and when Dan finds a map well, all kinds of things just go horribly wrong. For example - Alice noses her nosey way in and two strange men suddenly turn up wanting what's theirs - and then there's the bank, too. The Beehive by Simon Adepetun is a tight little sharp-witted bumble through a short period in Dan's young life. ‘What's a bumble?' - ‘Shut up, Alice!'
