Book Description

As evidence grows of the hugely damaging effect that the destruction of the world’s forests is having, with global warming an ever-present threat, The Forest Fights Back looks at man’s unquenchable search for resources, notes his greed and readiness to bribe and corrupt, and asks the question: “What if the creatures who live in these irreplaceable ecosystems were to get together and fight for their survival?” Is such a thing possible?”

A grandfather, prompted by his grandson Joe, attempts to find the answer to this question with some surprising results.

The author spent three years living in and around the jungles of Southeast Asia. There, he first encountered the unique tropical rainforests and witnessed their destruction at the hands of the logging industry. Despite working in other areas of the world, he remained haunted by the destruction he had seen. His decision to write about this experience led to The Forest Fights Back.

My husband, who doesn’t normally read picked it up in the early hours of Wednesday when he got up because he couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t put it down until he’d finished it! He thoroughly enjoyed it! I said to him the way you write you transform yourself so you think you are there and he agreed. Reviewer from Wales

The book is an excellent read. I love the images conjured up and have already decided I will read to my grandchildren when they are old enough. I love it ! You’ve written it so beautifully and I love the way the story is unfolding. It was an excellent read; so very original and unusual. Quite delightful really, and an inventive way to put across a serious message. I shall be ordering more copies to spread the word. The big question is of course, did the Man check his riding boots ? Thanks for an entertaining read, very enjoyable. Writing this 50 years ago, you were ahead of the curve. I read your book this weekend and found it very good, it could be made into a brilliant educational film. A very easy read! A dynamic story about the power of nature and animals. A lovely read for anyone who has a love of animals and respect for nature and the environment.
