Brian Sims is to host a book signing and reading from his inspirational autobiography; You Don’t Have to Be a Champion... to Be a Winner. This event will be held at Shrewsbury Library on the 18th January 2020 at 12 pm - 1 pm. The event will allow you to meet and talk to Brian Sims, hear an excerpt from his book and also pick up a signed copy. You Don’t Have to Be a Champion... to Be a Winner is an incredibly inspirational title about how Brian himself went from fitting wheels to wheelbarrows in a builders’ merchant, to working in the glamorous and overtly commercial world of F1. This book tells the story of how Brian was able to use his experience in sales to work his way to the top and become a winner! Brian left school in 1963 with just 5 GCE O-Levels and a shattered dream of following in his father’s footsteps as a Royal Air Force pilot. After becoming a Xerox salesman, Brian developed exceptional sales skills and used these to climb his way to the top. Brian has recently been appointed the Motorsport Industry Consultant to the University of Wolverhampton.
