It is also a view from the author as to what it truly means to be gay. The struggle these people have to face from bullying, discrimination and even lost self-esteem has very well been highlighted in this book. Linda D. Rhodes is a Melbourne born Australian. She has written this book after doing a great deal of research on what it is like to be gay, especially in a time when it was thought to be illegal and immoral. Her book is a result of her personal stories and academic research from a sociological stance on the topics of homosexuality and sexual diversity.
