Geoff Waterhouse’s Children’s Storybook Featured by The Gazette

Geoff Waterhouse’s exquisitely illustrated children’s storybook, Syd Slid, has been featured by Richard Hunt in The Gazette on Wednesday, 20th July 2022. The book feature reveals how his daughter Rebecca aided the whole process of the resurrection of one of his stories.

Syd Slid is a colourfully illustrated children's book with rhymes. It is based on the character of a small ambitious snail Syd who aspires to write his name on the moon via its snail trail. Every night he and his comrade Ollie, the owl, set out on numerous adventures to make it possible. How he manages to leave his mark on the moon is quite interesting. The book has beautiful illustrations for enticing children and sustain their attention. It imparts a moral message of hope, determination and daring to dream to children.

Geoff Waterhouse, 81-year-old, is a proud father and grandfather to two. He worked in the field of advertising as an illustrator and a cartoonist all his life. His illustrations have been published in The Oldie, Punch and the Reader’s Magazine. He was born and brought up near Preston.
