Alan Dale's Story Won 2nd Place in the Annual BCSA 2019 Writing Competition

The author of the acclaimed crime thriller Theta Double Dot, Alan Dale made the news when his story titled: To The Vacillator: A Scythe, won second place in the annually held British Czech & Slovak Association (BCSA) 2019 Writing Competition. A winning prize of £150 was awarded to the winning entry. More details on this can be found here.

The story describes the ethical dilemma; a worker is experiencing while working at a nuclear power plant and is aware of its potentially serious design flaw. The story follows the competition theme of ‘1989’ and concludes on the events of that year.

Alan Dale is a mechanical engineer by profession with years of project management experience in the petrochemical industry. He began his literary career a few years ago in his 50s by enrolling on the Writers Bureau Comprehensive Writing Course. He now lives in Surrey and is also a member of the Freelancers and the Working Writers Circle.
