Author of the book ‘The Duck Trail’, Steven G. Matthews, to deliver a talk at Cranbrook School. The author will share some valuable writing tips with the young writers and read an excerpt from his wonderful children’s book. The ‘The Duck Trail’ is a lovely children’s story about ‘Drake - the duck’. He is a little duck with a curious nature who is always in search of fun and new adventures. But these adventures are not always fun. One day, he goes on for an adventure and can’t find his way back home. Now, he has to rely on his sense of direction to find his way back. Will anyone notices he is gone? And will they come looking for him? The author Steven G. Matthews loves writing a poetry and he feels more comfortable in writing the poetic books. He is studying for his professional procurement qualifications and has a young happy family.

David McCaddon has worked in computing for over 4 decades. His past 34 years were spent specialising in Law Enforcement Computer Systems Development. His work allowed him to work with police forces around the world.
Garstang Library will host a book reading ceremony for James Lettice’s book ‘Long Journey to Jimbopo’. The author will read the excerpts from his eventful autobiography. This autobiography is about the author’s thrilling career and adventures that he had while he was serving in the army. He did not serve in the army for long, but his short stay was full of mischievous and amusing events. In the autobiography, readers are introduced to the talented young boy who has a particular talent - finding trouble. During his time as a ‘Bad Soldier’, he got into loads of trouble, even landing him in jail a few times. All these real-life mishaps are described by the author in a very entertaining way. After he was discharged from the army, James worked at various odd positions before finally getting a job at the magistrate's court. He turned to write later in life and eventually achieved his dream of becoming a published author at the age of 76.
Verity Craig will be at the Ryde Bookshop for the book signing event of her book ‘Ivf and Infertility, Our Journey: A True Story of One Couple's Struggle Against the Odds’. Verity decided to write this book when her husband and she found themselves in the painful world of miscarriages and couldn’t find any books on this topic. Verity Craig is a journalist and magazine editor. She had worked as a chief writer and sub-editor for local publications. Currently, she and her husband are running two restaurants.
The author of ‘The Magpie’, Gary Toward will be a guest on BBC Radio Leicester on Friday, 9th November 2018. Gary Toward will talk about his excellent book and tell the audience about the inspiration behind the story. ‘The Magpie’ is based on the story of a very sharp and vicious serial killer. His victim is found drowned in the River Wear with a vicious knife wound to his lower back. Detective Constable Frank Bolam is assigned with the duty to solve these murder cases. A few months later, Bolam finds another victim killed with the exact same technique. Bolam becomes obsessed with this serial killer and he vows to bring him to justice at any cost. He is disappointed by this devastating sadness brought to the victims’ families by this serial killer. These are the times of war and in the quest of finding this murderer: Bolam enlists himself for the Army where he heads for the ditches to track down this cold-blooded murder in the midst of the most mechanized slaughter of the men that the world has ever seen. The author, Gary Toward was a teacher for the past 33 years and he taught in 6 different schools also remaining the head teacher of 3.
