Author of ‘The Magpie’, Gary Toward to appear on BBC Radio Leicester

The author of ‘The Magpie’, Gary Toward will be a guest on BBC Radio Leicester on Friday, 9th November 2018. Gary Toward will talk about his excellent book and tell the audience about the inspiration behind the story. ‘The Magpie’ is based on the story of a very sharp and vicious serial killer. His victim is found drowned in the River Wear with a vicious knife wound to his lower back. Detective Constable Frank Bolam is assigned with the duty to solve these murder cases. A few months later, Bolam finds another victim killed with the exact same technique. Bolam becomes obsessed with this serial killer and he vows to bring him to justice at any cost. He is disappointed by this devastating sadness brought to the victims’ families by this serial killer. These are the times of war and in the quest of finding this murderer: Bolam enlists himself for the Army where he heads for the ditches to track down this cold-blooded murder in the midst of the most mechanized slaughter of the men that the world has ever seen. The author, Gary Toward was a teacher for the past 33 years and he taught in 6 different schools also remaining the head teacher of 3. His passion for World War I continued to grow when he visited Ypres with his colleagues. He is a keynote speaker and an educational trainer who has co-authored four successful books. His interests are in sports, mountaineering, football, and cycling and are passionate about equal education for all.

Gary Toward who penned the book ‘The Magpie’ will visit Kibworth School, Kibworth to meet and interact with the students. The author will talk about the story of his book ‘The Magpie’ and will give useful tips to the young writers. ‘The Magpie’ is based on the story of a serial killer who is very sharp, and viciously neat in his technique. There is a Detective Constable, Frank Bolam, who has murder cases to solve. Bolam finds this first victim drowned in the river with a brutal knife wound in his back. A few months later, he finds another victim killed with the exact same technique. The author, Gary Toward, was a teacher for the past 33 years and he taught in 6 different schools. U3A Oswestry to host Book Launch of ‘The Final Footprint’

Author of the book ‘The Final Footprint’, David McCaddon, will be at U31 Oswestry for his book launch ceremony in November. McCaddon will speak to U3A members about his book and the inspiration behind the story. The book details the story of a cybercriminal named Tim Ridgway, who is on the run, having made a daring escape from HMP Dinas Bay in North Wales. The force, however, has enough on their plate, investigating a new spate of Ransom-ware attacks, which are now threatening the very existence of their own and other organisations. In the meantime, investigative agencies worldwide are watching with interest the introduction of a new Big Brother crime detection programme known as ‘Project Watchman’, which is due to be unveiled in Australia. David McCaddon is an IT systems consultant who has worked in computing for over 46 years and has spent the past 34 years specialising in Law Enforcement Computer Systems Development.

She was disliked by her family and her life was full of pain and anguish. Her life seems to be in a turmoil but she finds a way out through perseverance, resilience and hard work. She moves up but there is a price to be paid and it is the children who will suffer. The story explains the dominating nature of Olive and how she changed the lives of many whom she met. She is a real inspiration and a role model for many people who are suffering in their miserable lives and are trying to make it out of there. The author, Linden Carroll belongs to England but she migrated to Canada and is now living in the province of British Colombia. She likes to hike and her work clearly reflects the strength and dignity of her people who suffered a lot from Wars in the past.

The author of ‘Max, Mouse and The Doll’s House’ will be at Clayton Library for the book reading event. Christine Johnson will talk about this lovely children’s book and will also read some excerpts from it. ‘Max, Mouse and The Doll’s House’ is the story of a little boy named Max, who likes to visit his Nani’s house and to play with the dollhouse there. But he had no idea that when he goes to sleep, the dollhouse comes to life. Max comes to know about the cellar door of the dollhouse which leads to a jungle where he meets Charlie, a chimpanzee, who has lost his family at a tea party. Max and the Mouse agree to help him in finding his family. Christine Johnson was born in Staffordshire. She was raised in an Anglo Irish family and attended Catholic Convent and Grammar School. She graduated in B.A Honors in Business Studies.
