Author of acclaimed children’s book Gaia’s Journey, Christine Paris will be heading over to the McGregor public library, McGregor, Ontario. She will be attending a library event dedicated to Gaia’s Journey. Christine will read to children from her book and engage in a crafting workshop. She will also sign copies of Gaia’s Journey. After his retirement, he decided to write books for children and really enjoyed writing his first series of children’s books. The Cinema Museum in London will be hosting an event in which they will showcase Tom McNab’s first play collection 1936: Berlin and other plays. The event will host talks about Tom’s plays and a limited screening of the short film Leni, an adaptation of one of Tom’s Play. Judith Logan was a legal secretary and later an employee at the Provincial Court of Alberta. She had always wanted to become an author. Partnership Elementary School has requested Margaret Scott to spend a day with young scholars and share her journey of becoming an author with them. She will be reading from her book Jimmy Gets a Pet Passport for the students and answering their questions. Jimmy Gets a Pet Passport is an interesting children’s book based on real-life events of Jimmy the Dalmatian, who was adopted by a Scottish lady working in the USA. When she turned three it was time for her to move back to her Scottish family, however, to get the passport, Jimmy needed to visit the vet. Can she brave up and overcome her fear of visiting a vet? Margaret is a Scottish author who met Jimmy in North Carolina while working as an Operations/Program Assistant at YMCA Camp Sea Gull/Camp Seafarer. In 2015, Margret returned to Scotland which inspired her as a Children's Author following Jimmy's actual life events.

Margret will spend an entire day with the young students and talk to them about reading books and their pets. She will also share her experience of writing a book about her pet. In order to get her passport, she needs to visit the vet but she is afraid of the visit and is feeling anxious. Would she be able to be brave and face her fears? Margret Scott spent her early years in the North East of Scotland. She earned her degree in Sports Development and Health Promotion at University. In Northern Georgia, she worked as a Camp Counsellor, Unit Leader and Sports Director. She also worked as an Operations/Program Assistant at YMCA Camp Sea Gull/Camp Seafarer where she met Jimmy.

Newcastle under Lyme Library has arranged a full day reading session for local authors at the Literary Day.
