The author of an amazing book Why the World is Speaking English – A Sideways Look, Michael Sykes, got his interview featured in The Electric Press Magazine in their February Edition. Michael Sykes talked about his interest in the English language, his observation of the world’s attitude towards the language as well as his opinion over issues related to English as a ‘world Language’.

Why the World is Speaking English – A Sideways Look is a research on the English language, how and why it is accelerating world over. With the use of facts, opinions and observations, Michael has explicated why it is the right time for the world to have a world language.

Before serving the academia, Michael Sykes was a part of the Royal Navy and Submarines which he left as a Lt. Commander in 1987. He moved to Slovenia with his wife and kept the base of a language school and a translation agency. He also examined for Cambridge University alongside. Currently, he lives in Hampshire.
