Author Malcolm Bateup has lived through an industrious and challenging childhood. Whilst in school, he suffered serious bullying and his family broke up. As a young adult, he experienced various career setbacks, financial loss and griefs. Malcolm was an engineer until the recession of the 1980s forced him to change his career. He started helping people with disabilities and mental health issues while studying with the Open University. Consequently, he became a qualified Psychotherapist.
