Fiona Rich
Fiona Rich, originally from Fife, Scotland, is a retired Senior University Lecturer and author of A Story to Tell; A Secret to Keep.
Fiona’s MSc, additional Post Graduate qualifications and teaching experiences heightened her passion concerning the history and treatment of people with disabilities. The devaluation of individuals is something that she has challenged throughout her career as a learning disability nurse. However, the evolving Eugenics movement of the early 20th century and the controversial doctrines of the Nazi regime that initially targeted people with disabilities and ultimately led to the devaluation and genocide of the Jewish community to gain Aryan supremacy, have stayed with her throughout her studies.
The far-reaching consequences of this tragic legacy are what inspired Fiona to write her novel, and utilising her professional expertise she tells a story of cruelty, betrayal and survival, against a background of the tumultuous and tragic events of the Second World War.
