Alexander Matthews

Alexander Matthews worked as a professional philosopher for 22 years, teaching in various universities. He had a visiting fellowship to Princeton University in the USA in 1986. He published two books and a number of papers in philosophy before turning to the stage. He has had four plays produced in the West End with Arden Productions. My One True Friend was the fourth to be produced. Matthews is married. He and his wife, Shirlee, have children, grandchildren and even two great-grandchildren.
