Nigerian born Cynthia first arrived in UK in 2004 aged barely 22 to study for her MBA at University of Buckingham. Having only previously visited England a handful of times for short holidays, she chose to do her master's degree in rural England. It was the start of an ongoing love affair with the country. Once the year of postgraduate study was up, she found one excuse after another to stay on. First, she wanted to work for a short while, then she met her ex-partner who she married and had her children with.
Twelve years on, Cynthia has established her gorgeous cake shop in the centre of picturesque Hertford, 45 minutes away from central London.
Cynthia was recently recognised in the Queen's 2017 New Year Honours List and awarded a medallist of the Order of the British Empire. She is passionate about giving young people a helping hand or a second chance and supports reformation programs. Cynthia gives career and motivational talks leaving listeners feeling full of optimism and eagerness to start the next chapter of their lives.
She is a keen supporter of empowering people and Is a registered business mentor with Oxford Brookes University mentoring students each year towards taking their first steps in business. Cynthia also works with renowned brands in confidential, corporate product development incorporating exciting flavour combinations. Cynthia has won a long list of awards and there is none more surprised and grateful than her.
