Nancy Russell was born in Yorkshire but has lived most of her life in Wales, where she brought up her family. Writing has always been her main interest, but cooking, needlework and sailing have also been major hobbies. She has a grown-up family and six grandchildren. Her daughter is the Welsh author, Biddy Wells.
