The author was born in Portadown in 1960. He is fifth in a family of eight. He was educated at Derrycaw Primary School and then at St Malachy's Catholic School in Portadown. Ran by Christian brothers, the school is now called St John the Baptist College. Brendan left school at sixteen and went to work in the horticulture business, plants, landscaping etc.
He was also a postman for a while but always retained his interest in the great outdoors, love of nature and passion of landscape and gardening. That passion and love of Ireland where he still lives today, is reflected in this book of verse and has given rise to him being called The Drumcree Poet.
From the Emerald Isle that is Ireland comes a collection of poems that captures the essence of Ireland and its people:an Ireland of breathtaking beauty and poetic verse encapsulating the awe-inspiring wonderment of this land of evergreen, a landscape of charm, mystery, enchantment and myths.
