Leza Turini
The author of the book, Lisa DiMuccio Goodrich, lived in a town that was on the outskirts of the city of Providence referred to as North Providence, Rhode Island. She resided there until the age of eleven, from 1961 through1972. Until moving to Burrillville RI she had lived a happy, normal life. On the tragic day she was torn from her school in the middle of winter, three days before her twelfth birthday, began the torment and agony she would endure day after day even until now. Life would never and has never been the same again. Experiencing the demonic, paranormal activity of living in this house, coupled with the racial terrorism she endured for being different, for being one hundred percent Italian, would forever pierce her heart and soul. The bullying and beatings she endured by other students stay with her like a ball and chain. Having olive skin caused her to be called the "N" word countless times each day.
